About Me

My photo
I have been married to Michael for 23 years and have three children - Sherryl, Craig and Matthew - all grown up now with only Matthew living at home. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time in my craft room, either creating cards or browsing the internet looking for inspiration and getting tips from other bloggers.

Finally an update - Saturday 14th December 2013

Well it has been a long tim since I have written anything on
this blog as I actually forgot all bout it. I haven't been too well this past 12 months, so card making has taken a bit of a back burner.

My husband and myself celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary last week and we had a party at the local Golf club. There was a full house with 125 guests. A surprise visit from family in Ireland added to the excitement of the night. I will add some photos when I get a chance to download them. My neighbour made a three tier cake as well as a surprise and this was just fabulous. The bottom tier was vanilla, the middle tier was chocolate and the top tier is red velvet.

I have had a busy week this week getting the Christmas cards out for family. The theme this year is the Christmas Robin. My husband took the photograph of the Robin that comes to visit quite often and our garden in the snow. I have had to teach him how to emboss as I am unable to put pressure on my arms. I think he did rather a good job!

Post wedding blues

My daughter's wedding was on the 4th August 2012. It was a beautiful day and the culmination of hardwork during the last six months of preparation, certainly paid off. I feel very proud of my achievements in producing all the stationery - maybe I can put some photo's on.

Table names were all cocktails

I feel a little deflated now the wedding has been and gone - I'm at a loss what to do with my spare time. I think I need to start another project, maybe make a start on my Christmas Cards.

No holiday for me this year, apart from visiting relatives in Ireland - it's  a smallish town called Skerries, just north of Dublin Airport and is a beautiful and soulful place to be.

I would love to know how to produce the fantastic blogs that others do - I am still feeling my way around the site and a little bit fearful of clicking buttons and not knowing what the outcome will be.

Saturday update

I've had another busy week at work, news of forthcoming redundancies has made it a particularly stressful week.  On top of this, a very dear Aunty sadly passed away, so yesterday was the funeral and a time for reflection and trying to put things into some kind of perspective. If there is ever a good thing about a funeral, it is meeting up with family friends that you should really make the effort to see more often. My two sons also attended the funeral and it was good for them to hear about all the good memories we shared and to get to know members of the family from the next generation.

Anyway enough of that and onto how I have occupied myself today. I am still learning about how to create bloggs and add all the pictures etc., I am getting there, slowly but surely, but with lots to learn. It's all a bit of trial and error.

Saturday 18 February 2012

-I've spent the biggest part of today in my craft room - giving it a much needed tidy up and organisation. I've cleared away all the christmas papers to make way for my next venture which is my daughter's wedding invitations. Her and her partner have designed them and I am making them up along with the table plans, name cards, order of service and menus - so I think I'm going to have my work cut out for me over the next couple of months.

I'm actually quite excited about doing this, but a little apprehensive as well - you know how it is, everything has to be just 'perfect' for the big day, so fingers crossed I can deliver the goods.

Tuesday 20 September 2011

I am a complete novice at this blogging and haven't a clue about what I am doing. I think it is going to be quite a while before I start adding photo's of cards I have done. Any tips would be gratefully received.

I've got a busy week ahead of me this week and not enough hours in the day to do everything I need to do. With work taking up far too much of my time when I could be busy getting the creative juices flowing. I know how I would prefer to be spending my time.

I've also just treated myself to some new promarker pens which I can't wait to try out. Think it will have to wait until weekend though as I have to go to London on Thursday for a funeral - a sad occasion but an opportunity to meet up with family that I haven't seen in ages.

Well that's it for now, you have to start somewhere don't you !
